Georgia

Color:  Chocolate & White Piebald
Coat:  Smooth
Age:  BD 12/14/23
Sex:  Female spayed
Size:  14 pounds

Georgia is the sweetest, most beautiful 1 1/2 year old female chocolate piebald doxie.  Sadly, Georgia hasn’t had the best start in life and therefore it takes her a while to trust new people and other dogs.  However, once you have earned her trust, she is the most adorable, loving lap dog you could ever wish for.  She is very needy and likes to be with her person always; she will follow you around the house like your little shadow.  She likes to sleep in the big bed next to her persona and loves to snuggle on the couch.  Due to her needy nature, she may be happy as an only dog or with one other small dog who she can learn confidence from.

Georgia is extremely fearful of men and would be best in a female only home.  She is very protective of her person and her home and will bark if she sees someone outside her home.  Since she doesn’t trust strangers, she does not like people coming in and out of her home so would do best in a quiet home where people are not often coming and going.

Georgia has separation anxiety and hates to be left home alone.  Therefore, she needs to be in a home where her person does not have to leave her alone often or for long periods of time.   An apartment or condo would not be best for Georgia since she is very vocal when left alone and could create problems with neighbors.

Georgia is not happy walking on a leash since that is all new to her and the big outside world scares her.  However, I think frequent small walks to start would be a good idea to teach her walks on a leash are a good thing.  Georgia loves her food and her treats.  She needs work on her housebreaking and her foster is working on that.

George needs an available crate that she can go into to have her own safe space to hang out until she learns confidence and trust.  Her new owners must be patient with this and allow Georgia to take as much time as she needs to adjust and feel safe.  This may take days or even weeks.  However, once Georgia learns that she is safe and can trust you, she may never want to go back in her crate.

Georgia is good with young little girls 6 years or older who are calm. She loves the little girl in her foster home and spends time on her lap.
