Calli is the sweetest, most loving girl, with a heart of gold. She is super friendly and outgoing, she is not shy around new people or new dogs, and she just wants to make friends with everybody she meets. Calli loves to be petted and enjoys snuggling up on the couch with her foster parents. She is always trying to lay next to the other doxie in her foster home and would love to be adopted into a home where there is another dog who will cuddle up to her.
Calli is only a 1 year old, so she has lots of energy and loves to run around play with her toys. She makes a funny little howling noise to tell you that she wants you to play with her, very cute! She is always trying to play with the other doxie in her foster home, but since he is old and grumpy, he never wants to play back. Calli would be happiest in a home with another young, high-energy dog, who will engage in play with her.
Calli is not housebroken but she has been using puppy pee pads consistently in her foster home, with only a few accidents where she has missed the pad. If you wish to teach Calli to go potty outside, this will take a lot of hard work, as she has clearly already been taught that pee pads are the correct place to go.
Calli walks well on the leash and she enjoys going out for walks. She likes going for rides in the car and will often fall asleep in her car seat. Calli is not a barker, but she sometimes gets scared by and growls at her own reflection, which makes her foster parents laugh! Callie likes to be with her people and would do best in a home where she is not left home alone for long periods of time. Calli is crate trained and likes to sleep in her own crate with her blankets at night time, which her foster parents keep next to their bed, in their bedroom. Calli looks to the other doxie in her foster home for support and reassurance, she copies everything he does and follows him around everywhere so a four-legged companion is a must.
Calli was taken to the vet for shots and had a bad reaction to one of the shots, more than likely the rabies shot. Whoever adopts her needs to know she either needs a titer test or lots of prevention prior to her shots. Her vet needs to know she is reactive.
Calli is up to date on shots, microchipped and spayed.
